 In class we viewed tutorials about the programs Adobe InDesign and Premier Pro. Premier pro was the program that allows you to edit videos. With Premier pro you can create a video for the portfolio. The video is more storytelling than the magazine is, and this can keep the viewer more entertained. In the article “Our Place in the Universe: The Importance of Story and Storytelling in the Classroom” it says “Our students all have stories to tell; we just need to give them a platform and an audience. Whether the story is told in LEGO bricks, Claymation, puppetry, or text, all that matters is that the story gets told.” This relates to premier pro because students will use the platform to tell their stories. Also, it says in the article “Our Place in the Universe: The Importance of Story and Storytelling in the Classroom” it says, “Technology supports a wealth of storytelling options.” This shows that the two programs' students may use help with the storytelling part of the project. I thought that the adobe InDesign program was easier to use for someone who is just learning how to edit pictures and make things on the computer.  

The premier pro was harder to use because it was a video, and the videos have a lot more technical things to do than pictures when it comes to editing and creating. In the article "Survival of the fittest: four editors on the future of literary magazines” it says, “the best way to reach a larger public is to publish the magazine” This shows that with the magazines it is easier to reach larger audience. This means your story will get to more people. The story part of the magazine is harder to do because magazines are so broken up section by section and sometimes do not flow. The videos have flow to them and can capture the story better. It is possible for the magazine to capture the story it just takes some structural change that can allow the magazine to capture the story it just takes some structural change that can allow the magazine to work.
